If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn't love others, I would have gained nothing.

OUR MISSION
Oak Mountain Mission Ministries, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that demonstrates Christ’s love by providing food, clothing, financial and other assistance to those in need in Shelby and Jefferson counties.
Clients are screened and referred for assistance by select social service agencies, schools in Shelby County, and faith support churches. Funding and donations are provided by individual and corporate donors, schools, grants, faith support churches, and the annual Harvest of Hope fundraiser. Everything donated to us is a blessing and provided to screened, qualified clients at no charge.

OUR STORY
Oak Mountain Mission Ministries was founded by the late Roddy Cooper when during a morning trip to obtain food for his deer feeder he thought, “Why am I feeding deer when I could be feeding people.” Inspired by God’s call to serve, Roddy began the Mission initially serving from his garage. As he witnessed the great need for food, Roddy reached out to local churches for support and chartered Oak Mountain Mission Ministries as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 2001. The Mission moved to a larger facility in Riverchase and then to its present 10,000 sq. foot home in Pelham to provide additional services to a greater number of people. Today, the Mission continues to serve in the same spirit of love and compassion established by our founder and with a commitment to serve God by caring for our brothers and sisters experiencing hardships in their lives.
