Clients are referred to Oak Mountain Mission Ministries by approved referral agencies, Mission faith support churches, and Shelby County school counselors. The type of support provided varies depending upon the referring agency. Qualified support is provided to screened, eligible clients at no charge to them. FOOD
Clients referred for food receive prepackaged bags of food, meat, bread, produce, and paper products once per month.
CLOTHING
Our clothes closets provide clothing, shoes, and jackets for children and adults. Clients referred for this support may receive clothing once every three months.
FURNITURE
Clients starting their lives anew are referred to the Mission for furniture. Due to limited availability, priority is given to clients referred from select domestic violence and other shelters. The Mission does not have mattresses.
HOUSEHOLD ITEMS
Our warehouse has a limited supply of linens, pots and pans, dishes, and other essential household items for clients referred specifically for such necessities.
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
Depending upon available funding, limited financial assistance may be provided to qualified clients who are referred for help with expenses such as utilities or healthcare. Funding is limited and clients may only be referred once per calendar year for such support.
OTHER
Additional forms of support may be available depending upon resources such as: diapers, wipes, school supplies (Shelby County students) adult incontinence items, and car seats.
