During 2011, 380 times our clients selected furniture to start their new lives in new places. OMM gives priority to clients from Safe House and other programs for abused women and shelter clients. We always need beds, dressers, tables, and working appliances. OMM delivers the furniture to the families in need (at no charge to them).
Clients receive pre-packaged bags of food, plus meat, bread, and chips once a month. Approximately $200 worth of food was handed out 3080 times this past year. The off-site morning food ministry reaches 50,000 people/year.
Working with the Alabama Department of Conservation and Hunters Feeding the Hungry, 3,500 pounds of deer meat was collecteed and distributed.
Our clothes closet offers clothing and jackets for babies, children, and adults. 1131 times this past year, our clients selected clothing for themselves and their children. We are always in need of clothing, particularly children's clothing and plus size adult clothing.
Our warehouse also has linens, dishes, pots & pans, household items, and small appliances for clients who need them. During 2011, 611 clients selected dishes, pots & pans, towels, sheet sets, silverware and other household essentials.
